About the Artist
My World...My Art

Linda is a Louisiana artist who holds both an MFA in drawing and painting and an MA in creative writing. As both an artist and a creative writer, she often combines the two art forms within one piece. Her aim is not to imitate nature, but to absorb it into her work, celebrate it, and convert it into her own hieroglyphics. Linda is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, the Canine Art Guild, Equine Art Gateway, PAWS, and Habitat for Horses. Her work is represented in the Ouachita River Art Gallery. She is a founding member of the Eye 20 Group, a group of contemporary, professional artists who reside along the I20 corridor in Louisiana.

Any of Linda's artwork can be purchased as quality prints or greeting cards. Prices vary for prints, depending upon the quality of paper that the image is printed upon. Greeting cards can be purchased as follows: one image for $5; five of the same image for $16. Commissions are available in single color graphite pencil, Prismacolor, watercolor, or mixed media (acrylics & oil pastel).

"I've been drawing all of my life...since I could first hold a pencil...since my dad first drew that horse for me, and I worked until I could draw it just right. There was never a question about what I would be when I grew up, except when I wanted to join the circus, become a horse or a ballerina, learn to sing, become a veterinarian or a lawyer, sail a ship in the sky... I never became or did any of those things, but through my art I can be whatever I want to be at any time. After all these years, when I look up from my drawing board, I'm still amazed that I have created something where once there was a blank page. Art is what I do in my mind even when I'm not doing it."
